About Spiti Valley
Spiti — "the middle land" between India and Tibet — is a cold-desert valley of thousand-year-old monasteries, turquoise rivers and villages that hang at altitudes above 4,000 m. Key Monastery still trains young lamas above the Spiti river; Tabo's murals have watched over the valley since 996 AD; and the villages of Komic, Hikkim and Langza hold records among the world's highest inhabited places.
Chandratal lake, the Pin Valley national park and the drive across Kunzum La make Spiti a genuine adventure — which is why we run these trips only in our adventure-ready fleet (Scorpios and Gypsys) with drivers who have crossed these passes for a decade.
